PVD History Initiative

Over the past 60 years,PVD History Initiative Pulmonary Vascular Disease (PVD) has become a recognised medical condition. Over that period, significant advances have been made in understanding the disease and developing treatments over that period. Writing the history of PVD is crucial to preserving the knowledge and achievements of those who contributed to our understanding of this disease. It is also an opportunity to learn from the past and use it as a learning tool for future PVD researchers.

However, there are challenges to writing the history of PVD. It is a relatively new field of research, and the historical literature is limited. So, few living experts can provide first-hand accounts of its history. We propose to address these challenges by working with scientists, patients, and other stakeholders to collect historical artefacts, interviews, and interpretations. We will work with a professional historian to ensure that history is written objectively and comprehensively.

Writing the history of PVD is an important task that will benefit the entire PVD community. We are committed to making this project a success and invite anyone interested in the PVD’s history to participate.

Please join us in this effort in any capacity (for example, consultant, active collaborator, writer, interviewer, etc.) to preserve previous knowledge and achievements.
