From Holiday Inn to Global Network
From Holiday Inn to Global Network: PVRI’s Journey in Pulmonary Hypertension Research
Remembering today’s session on the global aspects of pulmonary hypertension and the role of PVRI, I can’t help but think back to one of its earliest meetings. A small gathering, myself and just a few colleagues, including Professor Marlene Rabinovitch from Stanford University of San Francisco a New Orleans Holiday Inn. What emerged from that conversation was the audacious idea: create a global institute dedicated to pulmonary hypertension (PH).
It felt like a moonshot back then. But fast forward to today’s #PVRI2024 meeting, and it’s clear – that dream has been not just met, but surpassed. PVRI stands tall as a truly global network, connecting researchers and healthcare professionals from all corners of the world.
Seeing the diverse faces participating in today’s discussions, I’m filled with immense pride. From that intimate meeting to this expansive forum, PVRI’s journey showcases the power of collaboration in tackling complex medical challenges. We’re no longer just a few voices – we’re a chorus, united in our fight against PH.
And the story’s far from over. As we diving deeper into the global aspects of PH research, PVRI stands ready to connect, empower, and drive progress. The future of PH research might have started in a Holiday Inn, but it’s unfolding on a global stage, and PVRI is proud to be a part of it.
